60 Seconds with Francesca Montaut

Francesca Montaut joined us just three months ago, but she has already made her mark at East Wintergarden. With some great events ahead, Francesca is working hard and looking forward to the summer month in Canary Wharf’s big beautiful glasshouse!

What is the best thing you have tasted this month?

The most delicious banoffee pie circles at the London Conservative reception at East Wintergarden. I have a massive sweet tooth.

What are you most looking forward to in the month ahead?

I am very excited for a wedding tasting I have booked in at the end of May – this will be the first wedding I will have worked on for Ampersand, so I’m very excited!

What has been your biggest achievement this month?

The Target Jobs Awards at East Wintergarden, a seated lunch for 280 guests. The clients have held the annual event at East Wintergarden for five years now.

This was not only my first event for the client but also my first seated meal at East Wintergarden since I joined Ampersand Events. It all went very smoothly and they have rebooked already for next year – a sure sign of a job well done!

Your best food fact?

There are so many varieties of apples that if you were to eat a different type of apple a day, it would take you over 27 years to try them all (and more kinds are produced every year!)

If someone asked you to give them a single piece of advice, what would you say?

Coffee, men and chocolate are all better rich!

If you could try out any job for a day, what would you choose?

I love home-ware/furniture shopping and enjoy designing and decorating spaces. So it would have to be an interior designer. I have a keen eye for transforming a plain space into something beautiful, which is why East Wintergarden is the perfect venue for me!

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

To be able to stop time and make some of my days last longer. In the events industry the pace is very fast moving at times. It would be nice to stop time and have a breather occasionally, and enjoy the hard work in front of you.
