60 Seconds with our Favourite Desserts!

Ice cream, cakes, macarons and sweet treats seem to be appearing from every corner of the Kitchen right now, before winging their way to events across the City, so we’ve all gone a bit dessert crazy this month! So, for this month’s 60 seconds we decided to pin down each of our lovely team and find out what sweet treats make them weak at the knees.

My brother is a chef and owns a restaurant – this is the one dessert that has been on the menu for over 13 years. It’s heaven.

I would choose angel cake because it is a great classic with sweet flavours which can never go wrong.

Because nothing says "summer!” quite like it, and, more importantly, even someone with my level of cookery skills can make it.

Eton Mess


Eton mess is my favourite dessert because is it sweet, fruity and summery, and it reminds me of my granddad. This was his favourite pudding. He used to grow his own strawberries for it and would occasionally add raspberries to it. I definitely inherited his sweet tooth!

No matter what mood I am in and no matter how big my main course was, I can never say no to a hearty apple crumble. A definite childhood favourite, as my mum used to make one almost every Sunday for dessert.



Looks like we have an equal split between Eton mess lovers and those who only have eyes for chocolate. Lucky for us, the door to The Kitchen is always open and there are plenty of both heading our way at all times!
