60 Seconds with Birute Marciulaityte

Birute initially joined us as a casual supervisor three  years ago, now working for us a fully-fledged Event Manager. There are very few  venues and clients of ours that Birute hasn't worked with. She is known for her  planning skills and, as the only woman in the operations office, keeping the  boys on their toes!

What is the best thing you have tasted this month?


I enjoyed a beautiful chocolate fondue when on holiday in Barcelona last month. This was made with a rich and smooth chocolate high in cocoa, which complemented the fruits far better than the more standard chocolates that can be high in sugar.

 


What are you most looking forward to in the month ahead?


February 13th is our very busy day! There are a large number of events taking place and I am looking forward to our Jaguar event at East Wintergarden the most. I feel this will be a great event to manage as it is different from the more formal dinners we do and the operational set up will be interesting.


What has been your biggest achievement this month?


My biggest achievement of January would be the completed remodelling of our operational files, folders and guidelines. This has allowed our team to be prepared well in advance in every aspect for the upcoming whirlwind of a month that will be February!


Your best food fact?


Pineapples are not a single fruit but a group of individual "coalesced” berries which are connected to the stalk of the pineapple, this is often known as a multiple fruit.


If someone asked you to give them a single piece of advice, what would you say?


‘What does not kill you will only make you stronger’, especially in the field of events. Working hard and pushing to achieve the very best is a very important trait to have. When in doubt, Red Bull will keep you going!


If you could try out any job for a day, what would you like to try?


I would love to be an interior designer because I like the idea of creating, changing and enhancing spaces. Looking at details and being creative is something I enjoy.


As with many of the events I run, I begin with a blank canvas and before guests arrive it is transformed into a beautiful dining area or quirky bar space.


If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

I would have the super power to turn objects into ice and frost, because I enjoy winter and adore how beautiful snow and ice can look.
