An excited Ampersand team arrived bright and early at the Science Museum last month, to feed 200 eager delegates for their engineers’ conference. Guests spent the day engaged in a range of team building activities within the IMAX cinema and In Future Gallery. We provided a deluxe sandwich bag for the guests, giving them the opportunity to eat on the go and explore the whole museum during their lunch break.
Once the conference ended and the Science Museum closed, it was all systems go to create a stunning awards dinner in Making the Modern World. Guests, meanwhile, had an opportunity to pop back to their hotels to freshen up before heading to the Energy Hall. Here they enjoyed a prosecco & canapé reception, including delicious salt and pepper squid with chilli and spring onions and our Ampersand mini burger with tomato salsa, American mustard & cheddar.
Guests then made their way to the Making the Modern World Gallery where, in-keeping with company brand colours, they were greeted with crisp white linen tables with red napkins and chairs to match. Having become familiar with the space over the course of the day, everyone was amazed to see the transformation that had taken place in such a short time.
Dinner began with a miso and sake confit fillet of salmon with green tea, avocado salsa and lime caviar tartar taco, wasabi mayonnaise, watermelon chip and crispy noodles. A hearty meal of slow roasted shoulder of Cornish lamb with pine nuts and apricots, celeriac mash, Barolo jus and bobby beans followed – a great hit with all the guests. After the awards were announced, we rounded off the dinner with our melt-in-the-mouth Ampersand Black Forest gateau, made with cherry gel, aerated sponge and fresh cherries.
We love a challenge and this event was exactly that. With fantastic feedback from client and venue alike, all the hard work was absolutely worthwhile.
