Museum of London - Our Venue of the Month

This month we are celebrating a gem in the heart of the City. Located on London Wall, a few minutes' walk north of St Paul's Cathedral and overlooking the remains of the Roman city wall, The Museum of London offers a fascinating journey through time. Here you can discover the history of our city from the prehistoric period to contemporary London.

Benefiting from an exhaustive £20m redevelopment in 2010, the Museum of London is a unique venue for evening events, perfect for awards ceremonies, presentations and Christmas parties for up to 1000 guests.

Right now we’re particularly excited for the museum’s newest exhibition. Delving into the mind of the world’s most famous fictional detective, Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, this major exhibition is London’s first on the literary hero since 1951. It runs from 17th October 2014 to 12th April 2015.

During evening events, guests can explore the exhibition, which will transport them to Victorian London through early film, photography, paintings and original artifacts. Guests may walk in Holmes’s footsteps and imagine they are standing on the pavement of the Strand, as horse-drawn traffic clatters past.

Of course, no event in such an iconic venue would be complete without food to match, and our award-winning chefs can’t wait to get stuck into creating authentic Victorian banquet food to complement the exhibition.

The museum holds numerous unique events spaces, which are sure to dazzle your guests, starting with its imposing entrance hall. With its own futuristic bar, this is the perfect reception space. The Sackler Hall is the largest space in the museum and offers the definitive backdrop for a corporate event. With a one of a kind 48-metre LED ellipse suspended from the ceiling, the space provides the perfect opportunity to create a branded event within the museum.

For a smaller and more intimate event, galleries such as the Victorian Pleasure Gardens and City Gallery highlight London’s unique history, while providing the perfect backdrop to enjoy our award winning catering.

With bespoke themed menus drawing on London’s rich history and iconic recipes, we are sure an event at The Museum of London will inspire and delight your guests.
