Not only is that lingering magic keeping the museum in all of our minds, we’re also getting really excited thinking of all the amazing ways that we can use its awesome spaces for summer parties (and before you know it, Christmas!)
No matter how many times you cross the grand threshold of the Natural History Museum to emerge into the cathedral-like Central Hall, it’s always impossible to suppress the feelings of delight and awe it inspires. With its grand stone staircase, soaring arches, and the lofty spectacle of "Dippy” – a gargantuan Diplodocus skeleton cast – this space is a feast for the eyes. It’s a remarkable backdrop for any event, but the sense of wonder and enchantment it instils means we particularly love it for Christmas parties.
The magic continues in the Earth Hall (where we hosted Strictly SW7) as you travel through a colossal metallic sculpture of the globe to reach the upper galleries. It’s not just the towering, celestially adorned walls of this setting that make this venue completely out-of-this-world but the impressive sense of scale and the uncanny experience of dining under the great globe.
Events held in the Darwin Centre strike a different tone, thanks to its airy, light-filled rooms and pure clean lines. The centre is a celebration of life and the natural world, and it houses three unique event spaces: the striking atrium, the outdoor courtyard, and the Images of Nature Gallery, which showcases the museum’s expansive and celebrated collection of beautiful natural history artworks. With its outside space and tonnes of natural light, the Darwin Centre is definitely our pick for summer.
Rumour has it that this year, thermometers will hit record-breaking highs, so be sure to seek out a summer party venue with an outdoor area. They don’t come much better than by the spectacular Cocoon of the Darwin Centre!
We’ve got some great spring deals to offer at this incredible venue, so please get in touch to find out more.
