At the event "bed-spring spritzers” and citrus royale cocktails flowed, and Ampersand offered a stunning come-to-bed menu, served on boudoir mirrors, which included: slow cooked salmon fillet wrapped in black seaweed with a pipette of Beefeater gin and tonic dressing; English muffin topped with smoked salmon, poached quail’s egg and Hollandaise; and royal red, white and blue macaroons with silver crowns.
"We are seldom asked to create food to take to bed, but no challenge is too great,” said Ampersand Events’s Chloe Martin. "Savoir is a byword for luxury elegance and excellence, and so is Ampersand Events!"
The Royal State Bed has been launched in celebration of Savoir’s association with Hampton Court Palace’s Secrets of the Royal Bedchamber exhibition. Exploring the Bedchamber of the 17th and 18th century royal court, it launches next week and runs until November.
Savoir beds themselves have an illustrious history. The first one was designed for the Savoy Hotel by Lady D'Oyly Carte in 1905 and customers include Emma Thompson, Liza Minnelli, the Aga Khan and King Hassan of Morocco.
