We fondly look back on Faye and Chris’ wedding at Banqueting House, a stunning wedding that felt like a true fairytale! When Faye, a valued employee of Historic Royal Palaces, approached us to cater for her dream wedding, we jumped at the chance. The next few months were a blur of exciting meetings, careful planning, a delicious tasting and finally the big day itself!
A small and intimate celebration for 80 with a strong navy blue colour scheme made a splash against the backdrop of the Main Hall, the charming wedding turning this usually grandiose space into a warm and romantic setting.
Meat lovers both, the couple were surprised to find themselves committing to a vegetarian starter of celeriac panna cotta with wild mushrooms and smoked beetroot. We were far less startled – the creamy texture makes this dish a sure winner! A scrumptious main course of Gressingham duck, confit duck leg potato cake and blueberry jus was to follow, and from the empty plates on the day, we can only assume they enjoyed this as much as we did in the tasting.
It was the bride’s dream to have an ice cream bar for dessert, complete with every type of topping imaginable. When she mentioned this in the first meeting, it was as a fanciful wish, with the cost of a full ice bar adding an untenable hit to the budget. However, Events Executive Chloe, coordinating the wedding, discussed this with our Executive Chef and together they set about formulating a plan to ensure the fairy-tale would have its happy ending!
On the day, guests discovered that our wonderful chefs had created their very own ice bowls to house the ice cream, complete with frozen petals in the exact navy blue of the couple’s colour scheme. This was a beautiful way to give the bride her heart’s (and sweet tooth’s) desire on her wedding day.
We loved working with Faye and Chris, so it felt wonderful to help this delightful couple realise their dreams for their big day. A lovely example of our drive to go above and beyond to deliver your perfect day!
