Museum of London Docklands hosts Woman of Achievement Award 2012 event

Ampersand venue historic Grade I listed Museum of London Docklands hosted a celebration event for the seven category winners of the Women in the City Woman of Achievement Award 2012 on 30th October.

Once a molasses and rum warehouse, the Museum of London Docklands is a stunning and characterful venue spanning five floors and combining three hundred years of history with stylish modern finishes and fixtures. It was an excellent setting for this prestigious event at which guests discovered the winner of each category and enjoyed a specially selected menu based on a contemporary sustainable, foraged theme chosen by city caterer Lusso, co-host of the event and sponsor of the Legal Services category.

Launched in 2003, the Woman of Achievement Award recognises the outstanding contribution women make to the economy, and identifies those who are actively promoting and encouraging the progress of women above and beyond the usual scope of their role. The Award judging panel is chaired by Prof Susan Vinnicombe, OBE, Director, Centre for Developing Women Business Leaders at Cranfield School of Management.

The seven category winners announced on Tuesday go on to compete for the overall 2012 Woman of Achievement Award. The main prize for 2012 includes a place on the prestigious Accelerated Development Program delivered by University of Chicago Booth School of Business at its London campus. This prize will be presented on Friday, 23rd November.

The Award categories for 2012 are: Accountancy, Built Environment, Facilities Management, Financial Services, Insurance Services, Legal Services, Medicine & Healthcare, and Technology.
