Quiz night at The Law Society

Last night Ampersand hosted a quiz night at The Law Society to raise funds for CH&Co’s nominated charity Kids Company, and of course for a bit of fun and a chance to exercise those brains!
Employees and colleagues of Ampersand invited friends and family to join the fun in the Law Society’s Common Room. This magnificent room of The Law Society was the ideal venue for a quiz thanks to its built-in PA system, and guests who were seeing the Law Society for the first time were wowed by the beautiful stained glass windows and mahogany panelling.

As we all know, brains need fuel, so Ampersand chefs created a hearty lasagne accompanied by homemade focaccia and a tomato salad, followed by a gorgeous chocolate tart.

The quiz was made up of a taxing selection of questions, covering such varied topics as general knowledge, geography, “at the movies”, and a picture round featuring the Mr Men. But, naturally, no quiz night is complete without a “name the song” round and Ampersand couldn’t resist picking food related tunes! (‘Cream’, ‘Strawberry Fields’, ‘Orange Crush’...you get the idea!)

At half time one lucky table won an extra round of drinks on the house, when they won “Heads & Tails” - an elimination game where people have to guess a coin toss by placing hands on their heads or tails - with the last person standing earning drinks for their table.

But ultimately the event was about raising money for Kids Company and we’re happy to say over £5000 was raised for this great cause

Quiz champions left with six magnums of champagne kindly donated by Jascots Wine. 2nd prize, donated by The Vintner, a selection of red wine magnums. Third prize, courtesy of The In & Out, was six bottles of prosecco.

Throughout the evening a silent auction took place for a stay at a hotel, a signed Jimmy Greaves “retro FA cup” shirt, and tickets to the Tower of London and ZSL London Zoo. At the end of the night a raffle was called for yet more prizes...afternoon tea at Kensington Palace, a meal at Perkin Reveller, kids’ driving experiences thanks to Chester Boyd’s Karen Poynter, and a selection of DVDs.
