Growing a new relationship with Birmingham Botanical Gardens
The Gardens, home to over 7,000 plants, were designed by leading horticulturalist J. C. Loudon in 1829, and very little has changed since their opening in 1832. They have the tranquil atmosphere of a Victorian public park, boasting a charming bandstand surrounded by 15 acres of landscaped gardens and four glasshouses.
This is another wonderful feather in our day visitor catering cap, joining the likes of Hampton Court Palace, London Zoo and the Tower of London. Ampersand replaces incumbent Redcliffe Catering, and after 27 June we will be catering for all events currently booked.
...everyone who knows and loves the Gardens will find our Pavilion Tea Room a great place in which to enjoy locally sourced food...
CEO of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, James Wheeler, said: “Every good gardener knows when it is time to replant and for us now is that time. We will work with Ampersand to ensure that everyone who knows and loves the Gardens will find our Pavilion Tea Room a great place in which to enjoy locally sourced food while anyone booking our venue can be assured that the event will run impeccably.” Ampersand’s Managing Director, Paul Jackson, added: “what an honour to be asked to work alongside Birmingham Botanical Gardens! What we create is totally tailored to each location and event and our highly-trained, talented, and dependable staff will use the finest ingredients produced by artisanal suppliers to make sure the quality at BBG is second to none.”
