What is the best thing you have tasted this month?
That’s a tough one! Either the venison burger with stilton & peppercorn sauce from ‘The Thirsty Bear’ near Waterloo or the amazing tasting menu I tried at ‘Outlaws’ last week in the Capital Hotel.
What are you most looking forward to in the month ahead?
Christmas of course - my favourite time of the year! There’ll be lots of Christmas bookings to keep me busy ‘under the stars’ at East Wintergarden before I head home to eat and drink too much like everyone else. I can’t wait the canopy of fairy lights to be installed in the venue, it’s such a gorgeous set up – perfect for Christmas.
What has been your biggest achievement this month?
Now that I’ve been with Ampersand for over a year, I’m beginning to work on repeat events and many have fallen in this month. It’s been so nice to have that familiarity with clients and continue developing a relationship.
Your best food fact
To know how fresh the bread is in your grocery store, look at the tie that is holding the wrapper closed. Bread is delivered five days a week, Monday Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and the bread maker uses a different coloured tie to designate which day of the week the bread was baked. Our local bakery is full of knowledge…and the BEST bretzels in London!
If someone asked you to give them a single piece of advice, what would you say?
Have no regrets! Easier said than done I know, but you only live once and it’s not worth regretting things in the past.
If you could try out any job for a day, what would you like to try?
A chef. Food is my passion and I love to experiment in the kitchen every now and then but I don’t think I can really appreciate all the science and skills involved unless I get stuck in myself.
If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
Aw I really don’t know. I love Iron Man… so I’d be his wife!
